Simon Hayes who makes yWriter also has another beautiful free application for writers called Sonar 3. Sonar 3 is a very intuitive and handy submission manager. Also, programs like Open Office (sure most of us know about it, but I’m sure there’s some new writers out there who don’t). And then there’s the much lighter weight Abiword and you can always use Softmaker’s FreeOffice which is in my opinion the best free Microsoft Word alternative out there. Not only is it much more light weight than Open Office, but it actually has a lot of the main features that Word has right out of the box like Open Office and they work unlike the often buggy Abiword. And unlike Open Office it doesn’t bog down your computer. And it has the option to switch to the “classic” keyboard settings for Wordstar geeks like myself.

But I like it. And I’m glad you were bold enough to put it out there.

As a writer who appreciates gore, April Fool’s would have to be my favourite. The story kept me interested and I felt the tension and suspense.

Annabelle: I’m one of your dad’s writer friends. I usually go by the pen name “Leigh M. Lane,” and I’m a big fan of horror stories. I just wanted to tell you I enjoyed your three stories very much. I especially liked the ending of “Ashes.” I think a good twist ending makes a good horror story. You are very talented, and I think you’ll grow up to be an author just like your dad. Keep writing!
