Project: Sideshow
Editors: Mikel B Classen, Rob M. Miller
Due Date: Until Filled
Looking for stories that spotlight an act or exhibit that one might see in a sideshow: Siamese twins, fortune teller, strong man, geek, bearded lady, transforming woman/man (wolf, ape, snake, etc.). The stories collected will be tied together with a character called “Barker,” who will introduce each attraction /story.
The anthology will be the best 10- to 12-stories collected, ranging 5k-8k.
Though a horror anthology, tone of stories that’ll be accepted should be more about atmosphere and suspense than blood-and-gore. We’re looking for strange, weird, surreal, and, of course, horrifying. Think of Bradbury’s “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” and then top it (good luck). Check back often (at http://netboundpublishing.com/), because as acts are filled, they’ll be posted (don’t want 12 stories about Zoltar, the Seer).
Manuscripts should be an attached .rtf or .doc file, Times New Roman, size 12 font, double-spaced, italicized words in italics, 1.5-inch margins all-the-way-around (that’s one-and-a-half-inches, NOT one-inch).
E-mail manuscripts/queries/questions to Mikel Classen at mclassen@lighthouse.net and/or Rob M. Miller at robthepen@jaggeddarkness.com.
